Cruises are only canceled due to weather if the captain fears for the safety of the passengers aboard. Usually, if there’s a chance of inclement weather, all passengers are notified the day before the scheduled cruise.

Since we have larger crowds Friday through Sunday, we don’t allow pets on those days. Please call our office ahead of time and we can make arrangements.

Yes, our tour guide meets the boat at the dock. She is there to answer all your questions and direct you to different places of interest on the island.

If you let us know how many people are in your group, we can help you get in contact with them, but normally a small group does not require reservations.

Yes, you can bring alcohol on board the boat; however, Tangier is a “dry” island, so no alcohol can be purchased on the island. That does not mean alcohol is not consumed on the island, but it cannot be purchased. We suggest you leave your alcohol on the boat while touring the island.

Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks with you on the boat to the island.

You can walk around the island if you choose, since it is only about 1 mile wide and 3 miles long, or you can rent a bike or a golf cart to tour the island. Bike rentals cost $10. Visitors frequently choose to hire one of the ladies on the island to guide a tour of all the points of interest and explain more about the island, which is $5 per person.

Yes, you can bring your own bike aboard the boat to the island at a cost of $5, but storage is limited. You can also rent a bicycle on the island for $10 for the day at Sunset Inn.

The Chesapeake Breeze does have a gangplank that can accommodate a 24-inch wide wheelchair or motorized scooter. If the wheelchair does not fit the gangplank and it’s possible for you to walk on board, we can load your wheelchair on the boat and transport it to the island for your convenience.
